Dr. Alicia Barnes, DC


Dr. Alicia Barnes has recently joined the Mind and Body Center located in the in the Thompson Professional building, at the Thompson Hospital of Canandaigua. Dr. Barnes received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Bridgewater College in 2005; she then went on to receive her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 2008 and her certification in Sports Chiropractic from Palmer Chiropractic College in 2009. Dr. Barnes moved back to the Finger Lakes region after working in a family practice in Doylestown, PA for the past two years.

Dr. Barnes works with patients of all ages, providing a functional approach for the treatment of common conditions affecting the muscle, skeletal, and nervous systems of the body. She employs various chiropractic techniques (modified-diversified, Thompson, Drop, SOT, Instrument-assisted adjusting, Flexion Distraction, and Toggle Technique), soft tissue therapy, physical therapeutic modalities (electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, heat), rehabilitative exercises and stretches, and nutritional supplements to resolve patient symptoms, conditions, and improve health.
